5-19-09. KSH was contacted by a couple in Crab Orchard, KY to conduct a private residence investigation. The couple had noticed strange activity for the entire length of time that they had lived at the residence and were basically curious as to whether or not a spirit was present. There was nothing malicious or disturbing about the activity this was just a case where the couple wanted confirmation or denial of the presence of paranormal activity in the home.

April conducted a brief interview and preliminary with the couple on May 13, 2009 at which point while in the dining room conducting the interview, noises in the form of footsteps, light bangs and a female voice was noted by April and the couple. The spirit(s) inside the house seemed to be wanting to make their presence known.

 The official investigation was conducted on May 19, 2009 with April Todd and Granville Graves present as investigators and the couple in attendance to help with communication to the spirits and information about the property itself. The owners had completely research on the property themselves and had found out that the home had at one point many years ago been a funeral home amongst other businesses.

The investigation was conducted from 8pm to 11:30pm. Shadowy outlines were present at times upstairs as well as a couple clearly audible voices, one of which was caught on a recorder. There was an unexplained high EMF reading in one of the bedrooms that moved about the room and when we returned a second time to verify that it wasn’t something natural, it wasn’t present anymore. April experienced a feeling of vertigo in one of the bedrooms after she did some provoking of the spirits.

Overall, the case was very interesting and the couple that had asked us into their home were wonderful. We captured several EVPs during the session as well as the personal experiences that we had shared along with the couple that were there with us during the investigation. Overall, KSH concludes that there is substantial activity in this home. There seems to be at least one intelligent spirit present and the rest of the activity seems to fall into the category of a residual haunting.

Background: April was contacted by the lady that owns this house about several strange occurrences that she had witnessed herself and the fact that her children seemed to be having strange experiences that she could not describe. The owner emphasized that nothing seemed violent or malevolent but she just wanted some answers as to whether KSH could find evidence of paranormal activity in her home. (Read more…)

April, along with Ronnie and Leona, visited Keno Bridge for a rather short investigation on Labor Day weekend. April was not familiar with the location so she had asked Ronnie and Leona to join her, since both were from the area. (Read more…)

On August 2, 2008 KSH went to Wilson Ridge Cemetery in Casey County, KY. We were drawn there by a legend of a woman in white that roams around the trees on the hill just behind the cemetery. No one has ever known who she is and she is simply called “The Bride”.

Investigators present for this investigation were April, A-Jay, Granville, Travis, Missy and Robin. April and A-Jay arrived before the rest of the team at approximate 7:15. We wanted to get a chance to do a complete walk through in the daylight and see if we could find any leads on the identity of “The Bride”.

On Saturday, July 5, 2008 April and Granville took Robin on her first investigation. We decided on Soule’s Chapel because we had always had amazing results there and depending on the atmosphere, the things that happen there can make or break an investigator. We arrived just a little before 9pm and seen that there was a man and a woman in the cemetery with us.

A-Jay and April were sitting around one afternoon talking about a return trip to Soule’s Chapel. Being the “grab our things and go” kinda souls, we called Granville and tried to reach Travis to go with us. Travis could not be reached so April’s sister and Granville’s wife, Missy decided to join us for this trip. The time for all of us on site and ready to begin the investigation was 7:24 pm.

It was raining that evening, sometimes rather steadily so we had decided this would be more of an audio recording only kinda investigation. We did not want to take a chance to ruin any equipment in the rain and we did not want any results we may have captured in video or pictures to be questioned due to the weather, so audio only was the choice for the night. Soule’s Chapel is well known for its amazing EVPs and we had not been disappointed on previous trips and did not expect to be disappointed on this trip either. (Read more…)

KSH visited Jailer’s Inn on February 25, 2008. We would like to thank Mr. Paul McCoy for inviting us and Lisa Holcomb for making our stay a wonderful experience and not just the investigation and the wonderful historic tour but also the remarkable hospitality and making us feel right at home while at Jailer’s Inn.

Travel Channel rated Jailer’s Inn #9 out of 10 on haunted locations in the United States. The jail was the oldest operating jail complex until it closed in 1987 and it now on the National Registry of Historic Places. It began housing prisoners in 1797 and did so up until it closed in 1987 and went through many changes and renovations during and since that time including building the part in front known as the “new jail” and then later being transformed into the Bed and Breakfast that it is now.

Upon concluding the preliminary investigation and interview on 2-16-08, April decided we needed a team for the main investigation on February 19, 2008. Investigators present were April Todd, Granville Graves and Travis Hood. The owners of the home were also present with us during the investigation. The three children were at the home of a relative.

KSH was contacted by the family at this residence on February 16, 2008. April did the initial interview and the preliminary investigation that evening at the residence. The woman contacted us regarding numerous orbs that were showing up in all the pictures she had taken, mostly centered around the ones with her children. Upon getting the background, the family had not only experienced orbs in pictures but the voice of a male on several different occasions and disturbances whenever they had done any remodeling or rearranging of items in the house. The oldest daughter, now six, had talked about seeing a man since she was old enough to walk and talk and had even drawn pictures of this man for her parents and grandparents. The little girl was now scared to sleep with her window open because this was where she would see the man, through her bedroom window. The woman also believed that the spirit of her grandmother was with them and protected her and her family. With the family having various disturbances and the disturbances affecting the children, KSH was happy to take the case and help in anyway we could.
